The vast majority of people are not inherently against sharing their data; they are against the lack of transparency and inefficiency in how their data is used. For instance, when you call a customer service provider, you provide your account name or email, only to be asked for the specific order you are having trouble with.
This can seem frustrating, as you might assume they could easily retrieve this information from your account. People get upset not because the provider may not know, but because it feels like a lack of effort to help them efficiently.
Transparency is key; you must be able to share what information you have and what you need to help streamline the process. How can we improve data management to better serve customers?
